Shalag targets new products
A new line will soon begin commercial production of high quality thermobonded products and also a wide range of
nonwovens produced by through-air bonded technology at Shalag Nonwovens in Israel.
Traditionally active in the thermobonded hygienic and wipes markets,
Shalag has retargeted the hygienic market with through-air bonded hi-loft ADL products,
to be produced on the new line which increases capacity to 12,000 tons annually.
The through-air technology will also serve as a platform for the development of new products.
Two unique new products have also recently been introduced into the market.
Sabtex is a double-layer nonwoven with one-side abrasive and the other soft to the touch,
designed for the household and industrial cleaning wipes markets.
This patented nonwoven is available with a wide range of abrasive levels customised to customer requirements.
Shalag also has integrated additional technologies following the acquisition of 50% ownership of spunlace
producer Spuntech, an Israeli operation with an annual capacity of 15,000 tons.
